About the Position

Cabaletta Bio is seeking an Associate Director, Corporate Strategy & Development to join the Corporate Strategy & Business Development team. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer (CBO), this position is responsible for helping define and manage the product pipeline and research strategy, to most effectively address unmet medical need and potential market opportunity. Additionally, the incumbent in this role supports the CBO in facilitating business development opportunities, inclusive of in-licensing, out-licensing and research collaborations, as well as investor support and public relations.

The successful candidate will combine strong scientific and clinical understanding with strategic and commercial insight to evaluate opportunities across autoimmune diseases and cell therapy. This highly visible role will work cross-functionally with Research, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, Finance, Investor Relations, and Executive Leadership to support portfolio prioritization and long-term value creation.

Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct clinical development, competitive, and commercial assessments for existing and potential product candidates across Cabaletta's pipeline.
  • Develop revenue forecasts and commercial opportunity assessments for current and future product candidates from launch through lifecycle management.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate regulatory pathways, standards of care, competitive dynamics, unmet medical need, and market access considerations across target indications.
  • Generate strategic recommendations for pipeline prioritization based on scientific rationale, commercial potential, development feasibility, investment requirements, and probability of success.
  • Present analyses, recommendations, and business cases to senior leadership and support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Support the Chief Business Officer in identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic transactions, including in-licensing, out-licensing, research collaborations, platform partnerships, and other business development opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional diligence teams to efficiently assess external opportunities across academia, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned transactions and collaborate closely with operational leaders throughout evaluation and execution.
  • Monitor and periodically update assessments of the external landscape, including emerging technologies, competitive programs, potential partnership opportunities, and strategic acquisition targets.
  • Support the development of clear, consistent, and compelling communications for investors, analysts, and other external stakeholders regarding Cabaletta's strategy, pipeline, and value proposition.
  • Collaborate closely with Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment of strategic messaging.
  • Contribute to long-range planning, portfolio management activities, and corporate strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, medical, healthcare, business, or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare consulting, investment banking, equity research, business development, corporate strategy, or related fields.
    • Strong understanding of drug development, clinical development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies.
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial aspects of biotechnology assets and opportunities.
    • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively influence and collaborate across multiple functional areas and organizational levels.
    • Strong business and industry acumen.
    • Outstanding integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Preferred
    • Experience within autoimmune disease, immunology, cell therapy, or related therapeutic areas.
    • Medical, scientific, research, or clinical development experience.
    • Advanced degree such as MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA, or other relevant graduate degree.
    • Prior experience supporting or leading licensing, partnering, merger and acquisition, or strategic collaboration activities.
