Senior Director, Information Technology and Data Sciences

About the Position

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, The Senior Director, Information Technology is responsible for establishing and leading the company’s IT and data sciences strategy and operations to support a dynamic and growing business.  This includes establishing a long-term IT capability plan, managing the development and implementation of systems and infrastructure to support the company’s goals and objectives, establishment of suitable databases, data standards and tools to support the deployment of effective data sciences, and ensuring the IT systems and processes are secure, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. The IT Director will develop and deliver a resilient technology infrastructure, with capabilities that improve IT systems performance, productivity and collaboration.   This individual must engage the organization and systems partners and vendors with a business and collaborative mindset and communication style which enables Cabaletta Bio to fully leverage automation.

Responsibilities Include

  • Working with the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Scientific Officer, establish and implement an IT and Data Sciences roadmap for Cabaletta from current to commercial phase. 
  • Responsible for the timely and effective deployment of the established roadmap, given any relevant resource and timing constraints.
  • Partners, collaborates, and develops strong relationships with Cabaletta functional leaders to understand and address technology infrastructure needs in support of corporate and functional objectives.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and infrastructure across research, clinical, manufacturing and corporate functions.
  • Ensure the ability to access and analyze data across established systems in research, manufacturing, and clinical functions and ensure that data integrity is maintained during every stage of the data lifecycle.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of systems in support of future manufacturing operations, inclusive of production process, quality control, and inventory management as well as continuous improvement of manufacturing process efficiency and performance.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, continuous maintenance and support of computer systems, equipment and other technology-related products at Cabaletta work sites and remote locations.
  • Ensure the strategy and infrastructure operating model (organization, talent, employees, vendors, processes, technologies) addresses Cabaletta Bio’s immediate and long-term business needs and is synergistic with the overall IT strategy. Proactively manages capacity, technology life cycle, effectiveness, and delivery of IT solutions.
  • Utilize best practices, structured approaches, and architecture standards for evaluating, designing, and implementing services/solutions to meet requirements for functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Proactively manage performance of key vendors and third parties.
  • Implement policies, procedures, automation, and controls for consistent delivery of services in a cost-effective manner.
  • Partner with counterparts in other functional areas to implement and operationalize controls necessary for security, GxP, SOX, and internal policies.
  • Develop and continuously maintain budgets that align with plans and service levels.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead IT resources as necessary to support the growing business.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an IT security program.
  • Ensure that compliance and security considerations are embedded in the culture and service delivery.
  • Maintain pulse of technology trends and looks for opportunities to introduce innovative capabilities to drive business value.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a pharma/biotech environment.
  • Solid IT infrastructure experience and understanding with extensive day-to-day IT operations experience.
  • Proven success in managing data sciences in a rapidly growing biotechnology setting.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and partnerships as well as internal projects and budgets in a team-oriented matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations, guidance and compliance requirements related to computerized systems.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate thoughts, ideas, proposals and directly reporting to Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to adapt and efficiently work with rapidly shifting priorities. Strong team orientation and passion for continuous self-development
